Lyallpur Khalsa College celebrates National Nutrition Month on the theme 'Discover the Power of Nutrition'

Jalandhar, September 29, 2026: NSS Units and Departments of Botany and Zoology of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar concluded month-long celebration of National Nutrition Month 2026 by organizing a series of events.
Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh in his address emphasised on eating local. seasonal and conventional diet. He opined that the declining health graph and surge of diseases are indicators to think and improve our lifestyle. He asserted that a person's health depends on his diet and his good health benefits him not only physically but also mentally. He appreciated the organizers for spreading health awareness and different diets for mal-nutritioned persons.
Dr. Upma Aora reflected on the history, usage and prevailing need of Millets and stated how these super foods can help us fight diseases like diabetes. Prof. Satpal Singh, Chief program officer, NSS informed that 04 activities related to the theme were organized throughout the month which included extension lecture, poster making competition, online quiz and exhibition of millets and traditional and super foods.
Dr. Heminder Singh informed that Sneha, Bhumika and Himanshu in poster making and Daksh Gupta, Om Parkash and Riya in online quiz won 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. These events were witnessed and managed by Dr. Heminder Singh, Dr. Surbjit Singh, Dr. Amandeep Kaur Sandhu, Prog. Officers Dr. Ranju Mahajan and Dr. Harshveer Arora.
