Lyallpur Khalsa College celebrated International Yoga Day

Jalandhar: N.S.S. unit of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar organized an online yoga session dedicated to International Yoga Day. Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra was the chief guest of the event. In his address, he explained importance of yoga to the teachers and students. He added whether yoga day has gained international recognition and the world celebrates it but its beginning and rich legacy is related to India. Yoga is part of our society and civilization since beginning and India has made a unique identity in the world by spreading the significance of yoga around the globe. The special feature of the event organized by NSS unit was that volunteers of the college Reetika Parmar, Surya, Jaspreet Kaur and Mahima performed and taught yog asanas. While performing asanas, they explained the benefits and correct method to do them. At last, Chief Program Officer Satpal Singh thanked the participants and appealed that we can keep ourselves mentally and physically fit by doing yoga in this COVID19 pandemic. This online program was well managed by Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Prof. Navneet Arora and Prof. Priyank Sharda. More than 70 teachers and participants participated in this event.
