Ludhiana's Young Swimmers Set New Benchmarks; Bring Glory to the District with Record Medal Haul

Ludhiana, July 31, 2026: Ludhiana's young swimming talent has once again made the district proud by delivering an exceptional performance at district, state and national-level competitions, establishing the city as one of the leading centres of sporting excellence in the region.
The swimmers showcased remarkable determination and skill by winning an impressive 62 Gold, 35 Silver and 8 Bronze medals in the District Level Championships. Continuing their outstanding performance at the State Level Championships, the swimmers secured 45 Gold, 20 Silver and 26 Bronze medals, further strengthening Ludhiana's reputation in competitive swimming. At the prestigious CBSE North Zone Cluster Championship, the district's swimmers added another feather to their cap by winning 7 Gold, 4 Silver and 1 Bronze medal.
On this joyous occasion, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana, Himanshu Jain, visited the MC Swimming Pool on Wednesday to congratulate the young swimmers for their remarkable achievements. He applauded their hard work, dedication and discipline, stating that these outstanding performances have brought immense pride and recognition to Ludhiana district.
The Deputy Commissioner encouraged the swimmers to continue striving for excellence and wished them a bright and successful future. He remarked that such achievements inspire countless young athletes to pursue sports with dedication and determination while reinforcing Ludhiana's identity as a hub of sporting talent.
The Deputy Commissioner also extended special congratulations to Ojas Sund, who created history by becoming the only swimmer from the entire Northern India Zone to secure an extraordinary four-medal haul at the national level. Describing the achievement as a moment of immense pride for the district, he said that Ojas's success would serve as an inspiration for aspiring swimmers across Punjab and the country.
Himanshu Jain also appreciated the relentless efforts and commitment of coaches Madhav Sund and Saurav Sharma, whose dedicated guidance, professional training and mentorship have played a pivotal role in nurturing young talent and producing championship-winning swimmers.
