Ludhiana, August 11, 2025: The vigilant staff of the Ludhiana West Sub-Registrar Office, demonstrating diligence, apprehended two individuals, Parminder Singh and his son Gursimran, on Monday for allegedly using forged documents to create a power of attorney in Dhandra. The accused, residents of Model Town Extension, Dugri, were promptly handed over to the PAU Police for further investigation and action.
Parminder Singh, impersonating his brother Gurwinder Singh (lives in Bengaluru), had prepared a fraudulent power of attorney for a 170-yard plot and entered into an agreement with Ravinder Kumar of New Janta Nagar. Parminder Singh produced the documents in Ludhiana Sub-registrar west office. The deception was uncovered when the office’s operator entered the transaction details into the automated system at https://easyregistry.punjab.gov.in/. The system immediately sent a notification to Gurwinder Singh’s phone about the transaction. Gurwinder Singh swiftly contacted the Sub-Registrar Office, enabling the rapid apprehension of the accused.
Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain intervened, directing the PAU Police to register an FIR immediately and to investigate the involvement of the witness and any other individuals connected to the case. He stated that the district administration is committed to upholding transparency and integrity in property transactions.
