Ludhiana, June 12, 2025: Second training session for Presiding Officers (PRO), Assistant Presiding Officers (APRO) and Polling Officer (PO) held in Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines on Thursday.
General Observer Rajeev Kumar, IAS was present on the occasion and also addressed the participants.
In the training program, hands-on-training related to their role/duties on use of EVMs is conducted as per guidelines of the Election Commission of India. They were also guided about the proper and adequate reporting through prescribed forms.
During the mock drill on EVM, individual Officers cast at votes in EVM for dummy candidates on a random basis. After completion of mock voting, Presiding Officers personally tallied the manual record of votes cast with the electronic result of Control Unit and thereafter, the electronic result from the Control Unit with the respective VVPAT slips count.
The Presiding, Assistant Presiding Officers and Polling officers thanked the Election Commission for this hands-on training and and showed complete confidence in the functioning of the EVM machines.
