Ludhiana West by-poll: DC-cum-DEO appeal residents to use cVIGIL mobile app for submitting complaints regarding any MCC violation; 556 complaints received and resolved since announcement of by-election
Moving forward to ensure transparent Ludhiana West by-election, Deputy Commissioner (DC)-cum-District Election Officer (DEO) Himanshu Jain has appealed to the residents to use cVIGIL mobile application for submitting complaints pertaining to any violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during the by-election.

Ludhiana, June 11, 2025: Moving forward to ensure transparent Ludhiana West by-election, Deputy Commissioner (DC)-cum-District Election Officer (DEO) Himanshu Jain has appealed to the residents to use cVIGIL mobile application for submitting complaints pertaining to any violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during the by-election.
Divulging details, DEO Jain stated that the complaints submitted through cVIGIL app are resolved with 100 minutes of submission. Since the announcement of Ludhiana West by-election on May 25, 556 complaints have been received through the mobile application and all have been resolved by the concerned authorities.
cVIGIL is a mobile application developed by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to enable citizens to report violations of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during elections.The mobile application can be downloaded from Play store. It is available for download on Android and iOS devices.
DC-cum-DEO Jain further stated that using this mobile application, residents can submit complaints through audio recording, video or photo pertaining to any kind of MCC violation. The Flying Surveillance Teams (FST) will reach at the spot and the complaints would be resolved at the earliest.
Meanwhile DC-cum-DEO Jain directed the officials to make sure that the complaints received through the mobile app are disposed off at the earliest for ensuring free, fair and transparent by-election.
