Ludhiana Smart City Ltd CEO holds review meeting of development projects today

Ludhiana: A meeting was convened at Zone D- MCL office, under the chairmanship of Mr Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal, Commissioner (MCL) and CEO- Ludhiana Smart City Limited to review the progress of different projects under Smart City Mission. The CEO-LSCL deliberated each project in detail and directed the officials to expedite the project progress. 

As on date, 10 projects are under execution. Some of the main projects are RoB-RuB across Pakhowal Rail Road Crossing, Retrofitting of Sarabha Nagar Market, Development of Malhar Road as Smart Road, Sidhwan Canal waterfront (Phase I), Carcass Utilization Plant, Canal based Water Supply project for ABD Area & Roof Top Solar. Apart from this, the Letter of Award for three projects namely Sidhwan Canal water front (Phase II), Chain link fencing along Buddha Dariya and Civil works for Installation of Compactors at 22 locations covering Ludhiana city, have been issued and work will commence on all these projects within this month.

The cost of three projects is Rs 32 crore and these projects are mainly targeted to curb the pollution in water bodies and improve the sanitation facilities in the city and will benefit a large population of Ludhiana. The Letter of Award for RGBW Lighting under the Bridge on Southern Bypass along Sidhwan canal, Façade lighting at Zone D Municipal Corporation office, Procurement of machinery for C&D waste and Equipment for Fire Fighting will be issued shortly.

The CEO- LSCL also hold a detailed discussion on the project of Development of Sports Park at Jainpur. He directed the officials engaged in the project to ensure timely completion of all activities so that the Tenders for the work can be issued at earliest. He also directed to issue the tenders for Refurbishment of sports facilities at Guru Nanak Stadium (Basketball and Badminton Court and Athletic Track) and construction of Semi Olympic size Swimming Pool at Rakh Bagh, at earliest so as to provide the world class sports facilities for the residents of Ludhiana.

The CEO-LSCL asked all the concerned team from MCL and Project Management Consultant to expedite the project progress to ensure timely completion of projects and issue the tenders for remaining works at earliest.
