The meeting was headlined by Commissioner of Police, Swapan Sharma,IPS who was joined by Additional CP Rupinder Singh, IPS, and other senior officers. The audience was primarily composed of dedicated members from 385 committees, including Village Defense Committees (VDC) and Ward Defense Committees (WDC), highlighting a unified front against crime.
A Decisive Crackdown: "Yudh Nashian Virudh" and "Gangstraan te Vaar"
Commissioner Swapan Sharma briefed the committees on the strategic success of targeted police initiatives. The discussion centered on the aggressive stance taken by the Commissionerate through flagship operations designed to scrub the city of crime:
* Operation Prahar 2.0: This intensive drive resulted in the arrest of 232 accused and the recovery of a significant cache of illegal weapons and contraband, dealing a heavy blow to local criminal syndicates.
* Yudh Nashian Virudh: As part of the ongoing war against drugs, this operation has focused on breaking the supply chain of narcotics. The CP highlighted how community intelligence is the "secret weapon" in making Ludhiana drug-free.
* Gangstraan te Vaar: This initiative specifically targets organized crime modules. Officers discussed the positive ripple effects of dismantling gangster networks, noting that these operations have significantly lowered the threat of extortion and street violence.

Addressing the gathering at Police Lines, the CP emphasized that VDCs and WDCs are the "eyes and ears" of the force. Key discussions included:
