Ludhiana News/UCPMA holds meeting to discuss issue of revision in power tariff

Ludhiana, December 23, 2013: An urgent meeting of the office-bearer of United Cycle & Parts Manufacturers Association (UCPMA), Ludhiana was held under the presidentship of  Charanjit Singh Vishivkarma regarding the revised and increase the power tariff of all the categories of all the connections.
The meeting resolved to strongly criticise the policy of Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd. (PSPCL) to revise and increase the tariff to the tune of 13% which have made the adverse position of the industry.
Vishivkarma said the cycle industry of the city is already reeling under recession due to various reasons as power cuts, non-availability of manpower, inflow of Chinese products and benefits like tax holiday to neighbouring states. He added instead of mitigating the misery of the industry, the state government is going to increase the same.
This has added another problem for them, UCPMA has appealed not to increase the tariff as proposed by (PSPCL), he added.
