A meeting of the United Cycle and Parts Manufacturers Association (UCPMA), Ludhiana being held with delegation of China Bicycle Association (CBA) at Ludhiana on Friday.

Ludhiana, December 13, 2013: A meeting of the United Cycle and Parts Manufacturers Association (UCPMA), Ludhiana was held under the presidentship of Charanjit Singh Vishivkarma with delegation of China Bicycle Association (CBA) here on Friday.
The delegation was comprised of MAA Zhongchao Chairman & leader of delegation, Huo Xiaoyun Vice Chairman, Wang Zhaoyang President of Phoenix Group, WU Zhongjiang Exhibition Commissioner of CBA, Chen Xiaoping, Shen Mengjin, Wang Xiangyu Deputy CEO Phoenix Group.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman Joginder Kumar said as and when any party of China engaged in the manufacturing of Cycle Parts desired to collaborate with Indian parties they should approach through United Cycle Parts Manufacturing Association (UCPMA) and China Bicycle Association (CBA) for this purpose which will be beneficial for both the countries. He added as and when there is any exhibition is held in China the price of stalls should be concessional and CBA should help in this respect so that more industries may come forward to participate. He said in order to promote the cycle industry both the associations should put up joint stall to produce better services and if there is any problem in the trade between both the countries it is suggested that the same should be solved mutually by both the associations sitting on the friendly table for development of cycle industry.
He suggested that new technology developed in China should be transferred to India & CBA should help for the development of cycle industry. He said it has come to the notice that a bulk of duplicate parts of bicycle are coming from China which creates problems for the Indian bicycle industry, CBA should take step to stop this practice. He also said it will be in the interest of both the countries that units engaged in the manufacturing of bicycle & parts in respective countries desired to get them registered under trade mark should be helped by the associations of the respective countries.
It was brought to the notice of CBA representatives that items like Gear shift, Alloy Hub, twister spokes, Alloy Rim, Alloy Fibre Frame & other Alloy Parts are not being manufactured in India at present therefore, the CBA should help to get the technology transferred so that these items may also be started in India which will promote the trade between both the countries.
