Ludhiana, November 29: `Run-For-Reason’ is being organised by Round Table India (RTI) and IREO on December 1, here. Addressing a press conference here today, RTI’s Ludhiana Chapter chairman Anand Gupta and RTI’s chairman Nalin Mahajan and Marathon convener Amit Gupta added `Run-For-Reason’ Ludhiana Marathon will generate awareness for education of underprivileged children.
They revealed that all the funds raised through sponsorships would be used for building classrooms in government schools of Punjab catering to the poorest children.
They said RTI during last 15 years had constructed over 4500 classrooms, 1700 schools impacting more than 50 lakh underprivileged children across the country, under its `Freedom Through Education Programme’.
Giving more details about the forthcoming Ludhiana event -`Run-For-Reason’, they revealed that city’s first large-scale non-profit Annual Marathon Event would be held on December 1, 2013 from 9am to 11am and venue would be 5.5 km Track within beautiful green IREO Campus, South City. This event would be open to all ages, they said, adding they hoped that more than 1,000 people, including students, singles and families, would participate in the event.
Further, they told that winners would be given attractive prizes and registration cost per participant would be Rs. 200. They said there would be totally secured environment with private security and onsite parking. Besides, free onsite eye check up camp for all guests and participants would be organised by Sankara Eye. Also, onsite Emergency Ambulances and Medical Assistance through Fortis Hospital would be made available.
They said the event was being supported by IREO, Hyatt Hotels, Fortis Hospitals, Coca Cola etc.
On the occasion, the Area Chairperson Shivani Gupta, Ladies Chairperson Malika Gupta and the Government Middle School Giaspura principal Kartar Singh Sarabha were also present.
