Ludhiana News/Ravi Capoor visits bicycle manufacturing units in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, November 28, 2013: Ravi Capoor, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce along with Darshan Singh, Joint DGFT and Bhaskar Sarkar, Executive Director EEPC visited Ludhiana to have the view of the bicycle industry.
 He visited bicycle part manufacturing units to have a view regarding the crunch being faced by the industry due to technology gap. He visited Kular international the MSME Unit producing Mudguards and was astonished to see the manufacturing process the labor involved and the technology used. Also was amazed to see the utilisation of space by the micro/small scale units.  He also visited Bhamber Mech and was happy to see the latest technology adopted by the unit which they had imported from Taiwan, he was informed that the item which was manufactured in whole one day was now being manufactured in one hour, labour was saved, quality has improved many fold, non-polluting environment and moreover space was used to maximum limit. After seeing this he expressed that it is really nice that industry is moving towards globalisation and is interested to upgrade itself.
He offered his help in quality test and suggested that if industry needs funds government can provide for testing facilities. He invited the members to discuss in detail to Delhi and assured that the proper representation will be given to Commerce Minister.
