Ludhiana, November 29, 2013: Some unidentified persons have strangulated to death Sudhir Girdhar (57) and seriously injured his wife Neena Girdhar (52) at their residence at Hira Singh road near SCD Government College.
Police learnt about the incident today morning. Neena has been admitted to local DMC Hospital. She has sustained injuries of a sharp-edged weapon. It is stated that her condition is stable. Police observed that the accused had ransacked the house.
The deceased was a businessman. He had been running a shop at Gujjarmal road in the old city area here.
Both were present at the house at the time of occurrence of the incident.
On receiving the information, Commissioner of Police Ludhiana Nirmal Singh Dhillon was among the police officers who visited the spot for getting first hand information.
The cause of incident is still uncertain.
Further police investigation is in progress.
