Ludhiana News/Acid thrown case solved; police arrest six accused

Ludhiana, December 9, 2013: Police have solved the December 7 acid thrown case in which acid was thrown by a youth on four girls in a beauty salon in the posh Sarabha Nagar area.
Addressing a press conference here today, Nirmal Singh Dhillon, Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana told that the accused had been identified and arrested as under:  Amritpalpal Kaur alias Dimpy alias Pari, Parwinder Singh alias Vicky, Jaspreet Singh Mattu, Gurtej Singh, Rakesh Premi and Sunny Preet Singh. Amritpalpal Kaur who resided with her mother at Patiala presently had first married to the main victim’s “would-be” bridegroom’s elder brother and had two children from that relationship. But divorce had taken place between the couple at a later stage. After sometime, Amritpalpal Kaur had got remarried with England-based boy. However, her husband returned abroad with a promise that he would send her (Amritpalpal Kaur’s) documents for brining her there. But Amritpalpal Kaur’s second husband did not fulfill his promise. On this, Amritpalpal Kaur felt that her life had been ruined by her ex-husband and sought some revenge from him.
When Amritpalpal Kaur learnt about the marriage of her ex-husband’s younger brother she with the help of Parwinder Singh and others made a plan. Finally, Parwinder Singh alongwith other accused committed the crime on December 7. Parwinder Singh was known to Amritpalpal Kaur.
