Ludhiana News- Workshop on efficient use of pneumatics and mechatronics

Ludhiana, September 28, 2013: Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU), Ludhiana, on Saturday, organised a workshop on “Efficient Use of Pneumatics & Mechatronics”.
The workshop was attended by more than 50 industrialists, senior staff and representatives of various units from different parts of Northern India.
Upkar Singh Ahuja, Joint Secretary of the Chamber mentioned in his welcome address that the Chamber’s endeavor is to make Ludhiana industries a world class in terms of quality and productivity.  He narrated that to attain this target, automation is must at all levels.  He also quoted that labor cost is one of the most important factor amongst others.  He mentioned that it is a need of the hour to bring awareness for the use of pneumatics and mechatronics for low cost automation in the industries, which at present, is only possible through these types of workshops and seminars. This will help our industry to compete in the global markets.  
The interactive and thought provoking Program was held in cooperation with M/s. Festo Controls India Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore. The Faculties consisted of Kali Murli, National Trainer, Arun Bhatia, Zonal Sales Manager-North, Davinder Singh, Regional Sales Manager of Festo Controls India Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore. They explained the latest and innovative technologies available in the field for low cost automations, challenges and preventive techniques for efficient use of equipments to reduce the maintenance cost and improve the productivity and quality. The live demonstration of Pneumatics and Mechatronics were also displayed.   
Avtar Singh, General Secretary of the Chamber mentioned during his concluding remarks that the Chamber has been organising and conducting seminars on various issues such as energy efficiency, pollution control and environment improvements, quality and productivity, finance and material management, which are very much useful for the Industries at present, when the Industry is going through very crucial time and having lot of pressure about the cost and savings.  He also revealed that during the harvesting seasons, the cost of labor increases besides shortage.  So the Chamber is making efforts to improve the automation process in industries to reduce the manual working by 20%.
It was one of its kind programme in Punjab that gave extensive knowledge to the users about Pneumatics & Mechatronics. The implementation of the learning of this workshop, when implemented in the Industries, will not only improve the quality and productivity, but also reduce the cost of labour, as well.
