Ludhiana News- Tewari releases grant for tubewell in ward No.27

Congress MLA from North Assembly constituency Rakesh Pandey and District Congress Committee (Urban) Ludhiana president Pawan Dewan on Sunday hand over a cheque of Rs.15.50 lakh of grant out of MPLAD Fund belonging to Minister for Information and Broadcasting Manish Tewari, MP, for installation of tubewell in the Hari Singh Nagar locality (Ward No. 27).

 

Ludhiana, September 15, 2013: Congress MLA from North Assembly constituency Rakesh Pandey and District Congress Committee (Urban) president Pawan Dewan on Sunday handed over a cheque of Rs.15.50 lakh of grant out of MPLAD Fund belonging to Minister for Information and Broadcasting Manish Tewari, MP, for installation of tubewell in the Hari Singh Nagar locality (Ward No. 27) proving that the latter was committed for providing right to get pure drinking water.
Tewari has been releasing similar grants at various places in his parliamentary constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, Dewan said it was duty of the Municipal Corporation and state government to make available pure drinking water to people. Despite that Tewari has released grants worth crores of rupees for providing pure drinking water in the Ludhiana parliamentary constituency. Water tubewells have been installed with these grants, he added.
Further, he said there has been a long pending demand for installing a tubewell in the Hari Singh Nagar locality, he said, adding now this demand had been fulfilled today. Now it was responsibility of the Municipal Corporation to call tenders for the setting up of tubewell at the earliest possible time. He asked Ludhiana Municipal Corporation to speed up the work for installing tubewell in the locality concerned, so that people should start getting the supply of pure drinking water.
Leader of Opposition in the general house of the LMC Hem Raj Aggarwal thanked Tewari for releasing grant for installation of tubewell in his area. He lauded Tewari for releasing grants worth crores of rupees for development works in Ludhiana parliamentary constituency and hoped that it would continue in the future also. He announced that Tewari would again be elected in the next elections to represent the Ludhiana parliamentary constituency.
Among others, Rocky Bhatia, Tarlochan Graewal, Dr. R.K Verma, Sabi Toor, Baljinder Bunty, Rohit Pahwa, Ramesh Handa Gullu, Gursimran Singh Mand, Devraj Kapoor, Naresh Chauhan, Shashipal Joshi, Prince Sharma, Ward President Kulbhushan Sharma, Rupesh Khanna, Modi Bhanot, Darshan Bhardwaj, Ramesh Bhardwaj, Sukhdev Chopra, Gurvinder Singh Latu, Rohit Chopra, Vinod Sharma, Gautam Rishi, Varinder Kapoor, AmritLal Sharma, Ramesh Kukku and Naseeb Chand were present.
