Ludhiana News- POACON-2013 held at DMCH

Ludhiana, September 29, 2013: Punjab Orthopaedics Annual Conference (POACON-2013) under the aegis of Punjab Orthopaedic Association was held today in the hospital auditorium.

Dr SS Gill, Vice-Chancellor, BFUHS, inaugurated the conference. Speaking on the occasion, Dr SS Gill highlighted the importance of training in super specialities and for continued medical education in the field of orthopaedics and trauma care in view of the increasing number of cases in road and industrial accidents. He called upon the medical faculty to be upgraded with the modern techniques to provide the best services to the humanity.

Also present on the occasion were Principal Dr Daljit Singh, Dr. SKS Marya (President, Indian Orthopaedic Association), Dr Ravi Gupta (President, Punjab Orthopaedic Association) and Dr SS Sangwan (Vice-Chancellor, Pt. Bhagwan Dayal Sharma Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak)

Organising Chairman-Dr Mohammad Yamin extended warm welcome to the dignitaries present on the occasion. In his address, he said that Orthopaedic surgery has made tremendous advances in the field of orthopaedics during the past two decades, especially in surgical techniques like replacement of joints and arthroplasty.”
