Industrial workers hold a peaceful “Mazdoor Sabha” (workers’ conference) under the banner of “Karkhana Mazdoor Union” at Prem Nagar in the Dhandari Area at Ludhiana on Sunday.
Ludhiana, November 17, 2013: Significant number of industrial workers held a peaceful “Mazdoor Sabha” (workers’ conference) under the banner of “Karkhana Mazdoor Union” at Prem Nagar in the Dhandari Area here on Sunday.
The gathering strongly opposed alleged atrocities and misbehavior being done to the industrial workers in a few industrial units. Addressing the gathering, the Karkhana Mazdoor Union convener Lakhwinder said there prevailed lack of awareness among the industrial workers. He added the workers also lacked unity. He added exploitation of the industrial workers would not stop till they were aware of their rights and security and bring unity. He regretted that police was not providing timely justice to workers, as a result resentment prevailed among them.
Among others, Textile-Hosiery Kaamgaar Union president Rajwinder also spoke.
