Ludhiana News- Hero DMC Heart Institute organises free camp on world heart day

Ludhiana, September 29, 2013: On the Occasion of World Heart Day a free medical and heart check up camp was organised by Hero DMC Heart Institute in association with R.K Arya college, Nawanshahr.

Dr. GS Wander Chief Cardiologist and Co-ordinator HDHI and Dr. Rakendra examined around 200 Patients in the camp.

Camp was held inside the campus of R.K Arya College, Nawanshahr. One of the main social objectives of the camp was to provide medical relief for poor and needy. Recognising the need particularly amongst the poorer sections of society in the areas where medical facilities are inadequate or sometimes even non-existent, Hero DMC Heart institute takes initiative for the well-being of people by holding such free medical camps. Medical care of weaker sections of society is important for balance in society and here the role of free camps become important where poor and needy people cannot afford treatment at hospitals.

With the changing lifestyle pattern and busy schedule, people often tend to ignore the health of their heart. Diagnosis of heart diseases in the early stage could prevent severe hazards in future. It is our pleasure to organize this camp on the occasion of World Heart Day and provide with the proper diagnosis and treatment to the people. This will help them to understand the disease at an initial stage and take preventive measures as advised, said Dr. Wander.

The camp screened all patients who were registered in the camp including young Patients, senior citizens and local residents (including female members) for heart ailments, diabetes, stress related diseases, hypertension etc. Free Echocardiography, ECG, B.P Check up. Blood Sugar test was done along with distribution of free medicines to all patients.
