Ludhiana News/ Free medical & heart check up camp organised by Hero DMC Heart Institute

Ludhiana, November 17, 2013: A free medical & heart check up camp was organised by Hero DMC Heart Institute in association with Bhai Lal Singh Charitable Hospital, Bhinder Kalan District Moga. Team of doctors which included Dr.G.S Wander, Chief Cardiologist at HDHI along with Dr.Rohit Tandon & Dr.Rakendra examined around 150 patients in the camp.

Camp was organised specially targeting poor & needy patients who do not have such wealth to afford treatment in private hospitals. However camp was open for all types of patient suffering from cardiac & Diabetic problems. More than 150 needy patients benefited through this camp. All of the patients were given total medicinal support according to their requirements. Objective of the camp was to create awareness among local population of the area about common cardiac problem & their symptoms so that early detection of the disease & their possible treatment can be done.

Stress is important factor in today's lifestyle that can leads to cardiac problems, if left unmanaged, stress can lead to emotional, psychological, and even physical problems, including heart disease, high blood pressure, chest pains, or irregular heartbeats. Also Lack of awareness among common people is another important factor that lead to heart problems e.g High salt intake, cigarette smoking, Unhealthy diet, self medication practices etc., said Dr.G.S Wander.

During the camp, consultants offered expert opinion and guidance for minimizing and managing the risk of heart attack for free. The aim of the camp is not only to spread awareness on the heart disease but also to help individuals detect and treat cardiac issues. Apart from free consultation , Diagnostic tests like Echocardiograhy, ECG, Blood Sugar tests & Medicines were given free of cost.
