Ludhiana News- Free medical and heart check up camp by Hero DMC Heart Institute

Ludhiana September 22, 2013: A free medical and heart check up camp is organised by Hero DMC Heart Institute at Dandi Swami Mandir, Ludhiana.
Dr.G.S Wander, Chief Cardiologist at HDHI led the team of doctors and technicians which also included Dr.Rohit Tandon and Dr.Rakendra, examined around 250 patients.
The objective of the camp was to generate awareness about heart problems and their prevention among common people. Heart disease in India has assumed alarming proportions with the average Indian male being three to four times more likely to have a heart attack than his Western counterparts.
Expressing concern over growing cardiac diseases, Dr. G.S Wander, Chief Cardiologist,Hero DMC Heart Institute - said, "Current statistics show an alarming incidence of heart diseases among youngsters in India. The problem of heart disease in the country has reached epidemic proportions. Therefore the initiative by Hero DMC Heart Institute is a step towards educating the people about the various preventive measures, thereby detecting and treating cardiac problems, at an early stage."

Diagnostic Tests like Echocardiography, E.C.G & Blood Sugar tests were conducted free of cost to all patient along with expertise consultation.
