Ludhiana news- free heart and medical check-up camp on Gandhi Jyanti

Ludhiana, October 2, 2013: A free heart and medical check-up camp was organised by Kulwant Heart & Vascular Centre at Kitchlu Nagar, Ludhiana on the occasion of Gandhi Jyanti.

Around 95 patients were examined at the camp by team of specialists and Dr Kulwant Singh, Chief Cardiologist.

Motive of the camp was to generate awareness among people about common heart problems and their prevention.  Now heart diseases are more seen among the younger generation and in rural areas as compared to urban population, said Dr Kulwant, it was due to high salt intake, smoking and lack of exercise.

Blood pressure and sugar and ECG tests were held during the camp. Medicines were distributed free of cost to all patients.
