Ludhiana News- Consumers of Ludhiana will have freedom to choose gas agency and gas company

Ludhiana, October 4, 2013: In the series of customer empowering initiatives, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas is set to enable the consumer to exercise greater choice freedom & convenience through portability of LPG connection across oil marketing companies.

The scheme is formally launching tomorrow at Bangaluru by the Petroleum and Natural Gas minister Dr. Veerappa Moily, which will be implemented in 30 cities, which also includes Ludhiana city. Under the portability scheme, a consumer can now opt for the distributor of his choice within the cluster of LPG distributors in vicinity and across the oil companies.

Presently an LPG Consumers is attached to a distributor and cannot change his distributor even if he is unhappy with the service of the distributor or the oil marketing company. This will usher in improvement in consumer service by the distributors and bring a competition in cluster of distributors.
