Ludhiana News- Collection of property tax begins in Ludhiana

Deputy Commissioner Rajat Aggarwal hands over a cheque worth Rs. 4.36 lakh to the Additional Municipal Commissioner Isha Kalia during the function held at Guru Nanak Bhawan, Ludhiana on Wednesday.

Ludhiana, October 2, 2013: In order to motive others to pay property tax, the City Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria paid property tax of his personal properties and deputy commissioner Rajat Aggarwal of the government offices in the Mini Secretariat premises here worth Rs. 4.36 lakh at a function held at Guru Nanak Bhawan here today.

The function was held to create awareness among the city residents about the property tax. The cheque worth Rs. 4.36 lakh was handed over to the Additional Municipal Commissioner Isha Kalia during the function.

And with this the process of collecting property tax began in Ludhiana municipal area today. Among others, senior deputy mayor Sunita Aggarwal and deputy mayor RD Sharma were present.

Punjab Government wanted to eradicate “Inspector Raj” by replacing house tax with self-declared property tax.
