LUDHIANA MC FIXES 6 SITES FOR DUMPING OF CONSTRUCTION & DEMOLITION WASTE

STRICT ACTION TO BE TAKEN AGAINST THOSE DUMPING CONSTRUCTION & DEMOLITION WASTE ANYWHERE ELSE: MC COMMISSIONER Ludhiana, October 26, 2018: Under the Mission Tandrust Punjab and Swachh Bharat Mission, the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana is making efforts to make Ludhiana clean and green. For the dumping of Construction and Demolition (C&D) Waste, the civic body has fixed six sites in different parts of the city. MC Commissioner Mr Kanwalpreet Kaur Brar said that any person dumping C&D waste at any place other than these six would attract strict action. She informed that the sites chosen by MC Ludhiana include at village Gahlewal on Rahon Road (Zone A), near Government School, Mundian on Chandigarh Road (Zone B), near village Jugiana on GT Road (within MC limits) (Zone C), near Singla Cycle Road near Dhandari Flats (Zone C), village Kanganwal on GT Road (within MC limits) (Zone C), and village Barewal Awana (Zone D). She informed that for the processing of C&D Waste, MC is preparing a proposal for the setting up of a processing plant at village Nurpur Bet under the Smart City Project, but this can take some time. The MC Commissioner has appealed to the city residents to not dump C&D waste in green belts or vacant spaces in the city, in parks, canal or any other place. She urged the residents to dump this waste at only six notified places, failing which the violators would not only be fined but would also attract penal action.
