Covid-19: Sale/use of tobacco/products and spitting on public places banned by commissioner of police
Ban orders have been issued to ensure that this disease does not spread anywhere
Ludhiana: Commissioner of Police Mr Rakesh Kumar Agrawal, while exercising his powers under section 144 of CrPC 1973 (Act No 2 of 1974) has banned sale/use of tobacco & tobacco products at all bus stands, railway gates, crossing chowks, traffic lights etc and spitting in all public places falling under the jurisdiction of Police Commissionerate Ludhiana for a period of two months.
As per the ban orders, Mr Rakesh Kumar Agrawal stated that the use of tobacco and its products lead to damage to people’s health. He said that in view of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19), these ban orders have been issued to ensure that this disease does not spread anywhere.
PUNJAB YOUTH DEVELOPMENT BOARD MEETING SCHEDULED IN LUDHIANA ON MARCH 18 POSTPONED
Ludhiana: The Punjab Youth Development Board has started an initiative under which district-wise interactive meetings with youth would be organised in the state and all problems related to them would be resolved on the spot. Board Chairman Mr Sukhwinder Singh Bindra informed that the first such meeting scheduled to be held in Circuit House, Ludhiana from 10 am to 2 pm on March 18, 2020, has been postponed due to the directions of the Punjab government regarding Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19).
He informed that the Capt Amarinder Singh led Punjab government is committed to resolve all problems related to the youth by holding such interactive sessions. He said that the fresh dates for this meeting would be intimated shortly.
