LSS Announces Ludhiana’s Second Three-Days Theatre Festival

Ludhiana, September 3, 2026: Ludhiana Sanskritik Samagam (LSS), in association with The Believers Arts Welfare Society, Ludhiana and Dastak Theatre, Amritsar, is all set to present Ludhiana’s Second Three-Days Theatre Festival from September 11-13 at Guru Nanak Bhawan, Ludhiana.

The three-day festival brings together three distinctive theatrical productions, offering audiences an engaging blend of comedy, Punjabi folklore and thought-provoking human drama. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, SK Rai, General Secretary, LSS and other organisers said on September 11, the festival will open with “Massage”, written by celebrated playwright Vijay Tendulkar and directed and performed by renowned actor Rakesh Bedi.Now running successfully for over 22 years, Massage is a two-act monologue in which Rakesh Bedi portrays an astonishing 24 different characters with his trademark comic flair. The play follows Happy Kumar, an aspiring actor whose journey through the film industry and various twists of fate offers a sharp and humorous look at contemporary society. Packed with wit, humour and sarcasm, the production promises an entertaining yet perceptive theatrical experience.
 
The second evening (September 12) will feature “Mirza Sahiba”, presented by The Believers Arts Welfare Society, Ludhiana and directed by Rajinder Singh. Rooted in the soil and folklore of Punjab, Mirza Sahiba revisits the legendary love story through a contemporary lens. The production explores the conflict between love, family honour, tradition, loyalty and freedom, asking audiences to look beyond the familiar folklore and question who was right, who was wrong, and who should ultimately be held accountable. Featuring a talented ensemble including Ankit Luthra, Avantika Singhania, Mehrab Sibbal, Vishu Narang, Ishikka Ladia, Jassi Nagpal and others, the production promises an emotionally powerful interpretation of one of Punjab’s most enduring tales.

The festival will conclude on 13th September with “Jeevan Ki Talash Mein”, presented by Dastak Theatre, Amritsar and directed by Rajinder Singh. Featuring a talented ensembles including Ankit Luthra, Rajinder Singh, Avantika Singhania, Mehrab Sibbal, Vishu Narang, Ishikka Ladia, Jassi Nagpal, Bhumika, Karan Verma, Vihaan, Raj Gandhi,  Baani Chandel, Jagdev Singh and others.  Inspired by the life and writings of the great literary figure Maxim Gorky, the play explores the universal themes of human struggle, resilience, dreams and the search for a meaningful life. Through Gorky’s experiences and his understanding of human nature, the production invites audiences to pause and reflect on a fundamental question: Are we truly living, or are we merely passing through life?

The organisers said, “LSS invites theatre lovers and the people of Ludhiana to come together and experience three evenings of compelling performances, powerful storytelling and outstanding talent.”

LSS is a voluntary cultural organisation dedicated to promoting art and culture since 1999. It has successfully presented 145 cultural events over the years, bringing some of the finest performers and artists from across India and abroad to Ludhiana.
