LPU’s Annual Inter school techfest COGNITIA’26 United 4,000+ Minds in a Grand Confluence of Innovation and EduRevolution
Techfest featured 18+ diverse events spanning aerospace, robotics, crown walk, coding, innovation, and creative arts
Jalandhar: Innovation took centre stage at Lovely Professional University (LPU) recently as 4,000+ students converged for COGNITIA’26, the university’s annual inter school techfest, organised by the Department of Student Research and Projects. Designed around the powerful theme, “Where Innovators Claim the Throne,” the second edition transformed the campus into a competitive arena where ideas, technology, and creativity intersected at scale.
Moving beyond traditional formats, COGNITIA’26 embodied the spirit of Edurevolution by integrating experiential learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and real world problem solving into a single, large scale platform. With 18+ diverse events spanning aerospace, robotics, coding, innovation, and creative arts, the fest created an ecosystem where learning extended far beyond classrooms into dynamic, hands on engagement.
High impact competitions such as Model Rocketry, Aero Rush, a high speed drone racing championship, and advanced robotics challenges highlighted technical depth and precision. Complementing this were intellectually driven platforms like Innovation Deck and Manthan, where students engaged in ideation, strategic thinking, and solution oriented discussions, aligning closely with research led learning outcomes.
The event also featured the integration of creativity with technology under the EduRevolution initiative, with events such as Crown Walk, Filmistaan, Kalakriti, and the Mystery Basket Innovation MasterChef Challenge expanding participation. In the Crown Walk, students from the Department of Fashion Designing presented a grand fashion showcase, highlighting breathtaking self created thematic designs, while segments like Wings of Westeros further strengthened the overall thematic experience.
Recognising excellence across categories, Team Astra won Model Rocketry, Team Fatima secured first place in Wings of Westeros, and House of Targaryen emerged as the winner of Crown Walk. Robosapien led the Hover Race, Team MDN won Coastal Rush, and Team Neuronexus secured top position in the Resurgeons Hackathon.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU, appreciated the impressive student innovations and encouraged them to think beyond boundaries while pursuing impactful ideas. Dr. Mittal added that LPU remains committed to supporting such initiatives, urging students to pitch their ideas, with mentors ready to guide and shape them into meaningful outcomes.
Dr. Col. Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor of LPU, highlighted the importance of participation and experiential learning, stating that such platforms enable students to discover their strengths and build confidence through action. Dr. Rashmi Mittal encouraged students to step forward, take initiative, and embrace challenges, as these experiences shape not just innovators but future leaders.
LPU continues to strengthen an ecosystem that encourages interdisciplinary engagement and large scale platforms for students to nurture their skills.
Under Edurevolution initiative LPU actively and hosts grand events that enable students to learn through experience and grow beyond classrooms. Its Innovation Studio serves as a dedicated space for students to brainstorm and execute their technological ideas, with mentors guiding them at every stage and contributing to their success journeys.
