Jalandhar, March 23, 2026: Adding another chapter to its cultural achievements, Lovely Professional University (LPU) secured 13 awards at the AIU 39th Inter University National Youth Festival (UNIFEST) "Kalai Saaral", held in Chennai under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities (AlU). The festival brought together participation from around 140+ universities and over 3000+ participants from across India.
Competing across a diverse range of music, dance, literary, and fine arts events, LPU students secured five gold medals in Indian Group Song, Western Group Song, Hindi Debate, Poster Making, and Western Vocal Solo. Further strengthening their performance, they earned four silver medals in Classical Vocal Percussion, Classical Dance, Folk Dance, and Classical Vocal, along with three bronze medals in Light Vocal, Western Instrumental Solo, and Creative Dance.
At the overall level, LPU secured the First Runner-Up position in Dance and Cultural Procession, along with the Second Runner-Up position in Music, reflecting its consistent presence among the top performing universities at the national level.
Congratulating the achievers, Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU, stated that sustained success at national platforms is driven by disciplined effort, strong mentorship, and an environment that fosters artistic expression alongside academic excellence. Dr. Mittal said, "At LPU, we are shaping young minds who emerge as ambassadors of a new India, confident in its roots and ready for the world."
With a consistent presence at national youth festivals, LPU continued to strengthen its position among the country's leading institutions in cultural excellence. This sustained success was driven by a focused institutional approach that nurtures talent through mentorship, structured training, and performance based opportunities, enabling students to translate their potential into national level achievements.
