Over 67 teams from across the nation participated in the grand event of space engineering.

Jalandhar; November 03, 2025: The student innovators from Lovely Professional University (LPU) have secured the coveted Best Design Award at the prestigious IN-SPACe Model Rocketry and CANSAT India Student Competition 2024–25. The grand finale, organized by the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe) in collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Astronautical Society of India. The four-day event witnessed over 67 student teams from across India, making it one of the country’s most prestigious platforms for emerging space scientists and engineers.

Representing LPU with remarkable skill and creativity, Team Pinaka comprised students Priyansh Kumar Patel, Nandish Panchal, Toyib Untoo, Vinay Bharadwaj, Chetan Yasaswy, Zyan, Toushif Raza, and Shalu Yadav, under the mentorship of Mandeep Singh and Ruhul Amin Choudhury. Their winning rocket design stood out for its exceptional engineering precision, superior aerodynamic efficiency, and innovative payload integration, earning them the top design honor among stiff competition.

The event was graced by eminent personalities including Dr. Pawan Goenka (Chairman, IN-SPACe), Shri Shashank Mani (Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Deoria), Shri A.K. Anil Kumar (Director, ISTRAC), and Group Captain Shri Shubhanshu Shukla, who interacted with the students and lauded their creativity, teamwork, and commitment to advancing India’s space vision.
