LPU student Nikhilan J.M. is taking India’s talent and skills to the global stage at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026.

Jalandhar, August 28, 2026: Lovely Professional University (LPU) has added yet another milestone to its legacy of nurturing globally competitive talent as Nikhilan J.M., a B.Tech Aerospace Engineering student, has been selected to represent India at the 48th WorldSkills Competition, to be held in Shanghai, China, in the Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Technology skill category. Recognised as the world's largest international platform for vocational and technical excellence, the prestigious event will host more than 1,400 competitors from over 70 countries and regions, competing across 64 skill categories showcasing the future of advanced technologies and industry. Nikhilan's selection places him among the finest young professionals chosen to represent the nation on one of the world's most competitive stages.
Nikhilan earned his place in the Indian contingent after delivering an exceptional performance throughout the national selection process. His journey has been marked by remarkable consistency and technical excellence. He first secured the Gold Medal at the Regional Skills Competition before winning the Silver Medal at the IndiaSkills Competition 2025-26 in the UAS Technology category.
At the global competition, Nikhilan will compete in the Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Technology category, where participants are assessed on assembling, configuring, calibrating, programming, troubleshooting, repairing, and operating advanced unmanned aerial systems while executing complex real world missions in accordance with international industry standards. The competition demands not only technical precision but also innovation, problem solving, teamwork, and the ability to perform under intense global competition.
