LPU startup FemoraAI won SheCohort 4.0 backed by Punjab Government, signalling a new era of women led health tech innovation

Jalandhar: In a strong endorsement of emerging women led innovation in India’s health tech landscape, the startup secured top honours at SheCohort 4.0, a Government of Punjab backed initiative recognising high impact entrepreneurial ventures. As part of this achievement, FemoraAI has been awarded a seed grant of ₹0.75 lakh, while its co-founder Amulya Ponnala has also been selected as an Ambassador for the She Community. The recognition highlights a growing shift towards intelligent, purpose driven technologies addressing real world health challenges.

FemoraAI, developed by LPU’s third year B.Tech CSE students Ramanjit Singh (Founder and CEO) and Amulya Ponnala (Founder and CTO), is an AI powered women’s wellness platform designed to decode and predict menstrual cycles with clinical precision, especially for Indian users.

Moving beyond conventional tracking applications, the platform leverages machine learning to generate highly accurate cycle forecasts, detect potential irregularities such as PCOS, and deliver deeply personalised health insights. Looking into the future insights, it will also integrate access to certified gynaecologists while fostering a secure and moderated digital community for women.

At its core, the platform functions as a dynamic predictive system that synthesises physiological, behavioural, and environmental inputs. Unlike static models based on fixed assumptions, it incorporates variables such as body temperature patterns, lifestyle behaviours, and environmental factors to generate real world accurate predictions. With continuous learning capabilities, the system evolves over time, enhancing both accuracy and individual relevance.

Beyond prediction, the platform enables women to align their daily routines with their biological cycles, supporting better energy management, informed decision making, and preventive care. Within just three months of launch, FemoraAI has recorded over 3800+ active users and more than 10,000 cycles logged, signalling strong early traction and user trust.

Congratulating the team, Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha and Founder Chancellor of LPU Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal stated that the achievement is a reflection of LPU’s EduRevolution philosophy, where education extends beyond classrooms into the realm of purposeful innovation. Dr. Mittal remarked that the university is cultivating a new generation of entrepreneurs who approach technology not merely as a tool, but as a means to address complex societal challenges with sensitivity and depth. FemoraAI stands as a compelling example of how innovation driven by empathy and research can transform lives at scale, said Dr. Mittal.

LPU’s innovation ecosystem continues to nurture such ventures through its dedicated Department of Entrepreneurship & Startups, which provides mentorship, incubation support, and seed funding opportunities. With 250+ startups incubated, the university has built a strong foundation for experiential learning, where students are encouraged to translate ideas into impactful enterprises aligned with global and societal needs.
