Five national poets intensified the poetic environ to gather continuous echoes of applauds and claps

Jalandhar, April 15, 2022: The Division of Arts and Culture at Lovely Professional University organized a one-day ‘Kavi Sammelan’- Kavita ke Rang, Baisakhi kei Sang’ to celebrate the famous Baisakhi Festival of the Punjab state. The verses mainly highlighted the need for universal brotherhood, peace, humanity, friendliness and mutual understanding. Five eminent poets from various parts of the country shared together the poetic-dais with their unique talent at Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium of the university.

The poetic stage was graced by world-renowned poets- Dr Shyam Vashishtha (Writer & Poet), Vibhor Chaudhary (Standup Comedian & TV Artist), Sudeep Bhola (International Poet), Varun Anand (International Gazalist) and Dheerendra Singh (National Poet & Debater).  

Hailing from Bhiwani( Haryana), Prof Dr Vashishtha highlighted the immense need of mutual love in the existing society. His key-liner “Teri Nafrat Nahin Rukti; Main Apna Pyar Kyun Rokun (Your hatred does not stop, why should I stop my love)”, explains the same spirit. On this eve, his fourth book “Samay Ki Taal Per (On the Tunes of Times) was also launched.” LPU Pro Chancellor Mrs Rashmi Mittal and Director General Er H R Singla unveiled the cover of the book during the launching ceremony.

Prof Dr Vashishtha orated out the four key lines of the book as: “Kisliye Hanste ho mere haal per, Nachte haen Sab Smay kee taal per; Aap ne to vo ped bhi chhode nahin, Pakshi kitne hee baithe the jiski daal per”- (Why do you laugh at my condition, All dance on the tunes of the times; You didn’t leave even that tree,  many birds were perching where.”

Dheerendra Singh of LPU had initiated the programme with patriotic fervour and saluted the brave soldiers and martyrs through his emotive lines. Vibhor Chaudhary of Uttar Pradesh made the students laugh through his simple orations favouring the youth & its related episodes. He is one of the best stand-up comedians of today's generation. Sudeep Bhola of Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) sang about the glory of India and upheld its culture. Similarly, young Urdu poet Varun Anand of Ludhiana (Punjab) attracted the audience with his patriotic couplets.

During the event, spectacular performances were also showcased by Shivaji University Kolhapur and LPU students under the program “Namaste Punjab Cultural Exchange Programme 2022 held at LPU.”
