LPU organized online celebration of India’s 74th Independence Day as “Jashn e Azaadi”

Jalandhar:  Irrespective of the dense Corona pandemic hazards, LPU organized ‘Online Celebration’ of India's 74th Independence Day as "Jashn e Azaadi" at the campus. Many thousands of national and international students from 50+ countries and all Indian states remained connected to the vibrant celebrations vide digital networking through facebook.com/lpuuniversity. Students enjoyed ambience of the campus virtually by witnessing  the unfurling & hoisting high of the Tri-Colour and various other cultural performances full of patriotic fervor.
 

Congratulating all on the 74th Independence Day, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal reminded all about the toughness of the pandemic period and thanked PM Narendra Modi and CM Capt Amrinder Singh, who have provided the people with an environment of survival and safety in the country and the state, respectively, by controlling CORONA efficiently. Speaking high about the adaptability and hospitality of the Indians, he shared: “In present days, World has realized that no country can go great without India & Indians.” Chancellor Mittal invoked students to ever remember patriotic relationship of oneness with the country and indebted kinship with the parents, who selflessly suffer for their prosperity.”
 

Also sharing that with millions of student population, India is perhaps the first country globe over in adopting online education during existing crisis. LPU too stepped ahead in adopting online technology by conducting remaining syllabi and conducting exams thereof. He thanked new students for believing in and responding well to the innovative processes of LPU, and asked them to feel as they all are inside the campus, in celebrating the occasion. Mr Mittal anticipated to meet them in person at the campus in the near future.
 

Observing social distancing and other pandemic related norms, senior students also presented various cultural items of patriotism, including qawwali, dance, poems, skits, songs and more. Ms Muskan’s hindi poem “Beta Mara Nahin, Shahid Huaa Hae, Garv se Sbko Batla Dana” made all emotional and full of respects for soldiers ever ready on LOC and LAC. Many other student organizations at LPU have also organized various inspirational programmes where they made students interact with Captain Jasmeet Chauhan, Ex Indian Army Officer, who has been a noted sniper and RE-rider, and Stree Shakti Puraskar Awardee, Veteran Shooting Championship Gold Medalist-"Revolver Dadi", Mrs. Prakashi Tomar, and many more.
