Jalandhar, July 19, 2023: National Cadet Corps’ wing, students and staff members of Lovely Professional University (LPU) welcomed Indian Army’s all-women ‘Nari Sashaktikaran Motorcycle Rally-2023’ at its campus, today.

To commemorate 24 years of victory in the ‘Kargil War’ of 1999, and to highlight the indomitable spirit of women; the Indian Army has launched a Tri-Services ‘Nari Sashaktikaran Women Motorcycle Rally’ from the National War Memorial in Delhi to the Kargil War Memorial, at Dras (Ladakh). In the morning, it was flagged off by the Chief of the Army Staff, General Manoj Pande, PVSM AVSM VSM ADC.

The women-team is celebrating the decisive victory of the armed forces during the Kargil War, and paying tribute to the soldiers who made sacrifices in the service of the nation.

Upholding the exemplary sacrificing built-up of Indian soldiers, and invincible supporting power of women; LPU Pro Chancellor Rashmi Mittal emphasized that “women are true embodiment of ‘Godly’ powers. At a time they not only support and care for their families but also remain eager to be on fronts to cater to the needs of the nation. This exclusive ‘all women rally’ is the supreme example in this regard.”  Mrs Mittal also complimented   bikers   for taking up a challenging  route  which  indicates  determination of women and the  important role played by them in nation building.

Motorcycle Rally was also en-route inside the Campus, from main gate of the university to its Baldev Raj Mittal Unipolis. During ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebration’ patriotic cultural presentations were made; souvenirs to students and mementos were distributed to the bikers.

LPU Chancellor Dr Ashok Kumar Mittal, Brig Ajay Tewari SM (Sena Medal) of Jalandhar Group, Deepali Tewari, Col Maninder Singh Sachdev (2Punjab Girls Battalion NCC unit),  Prakriti Sachdev and Major Amanpreet Kaur (Adm officer of 2 Punjab Girls battalion NCC ) also graced the occasion. The 25-member strong tri-service team includes “Veer Naris”, one of whom is a serving officer, 10 serving Indian Army Women officers, one woman officer each from the Indian Air Force and the Indian Navy, three women soldiers of the Indian Army and eight armed forces spouses.
