LPG Blast Sparks Fire in Jawahar Nagar Camp; MP Sanjeev Arora Announces Rs.2 Lakh Compensation

Ludhiana, April 27, 2025: A fire incident occurred this evening in Labour Colony (Gali No. 6), Jawahar Nagar Camp area here. The fire broke out following an LPG cylinder blast.

Fortunately, no one was present in the house at the time of the incident, and thus no human casualties were reported. However, the house suffered extensive damage — the ceiling was blown away, and household goods including an electric fan, water cooler, and refrigerator were destroyed. The incident took place around 5 PM.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Municipal Councillor Kapil Kumar Sonu immediately informed Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora, who was holding booth meetings at the time. Hearing about the incident, Arora left his meetings midway and rushed to the site.

After inspecting the extensive damage to the house, Arora inquired about the total loss the affected family had suffered. Speaking to media persons, Arora announced that he would provide a compensation of Rs.2 lakh to the affected family, promising to hand over the amount tomorrow. He also expressed gratitude to the Almighty that no human lives were lost.

Area councillor Kapil Kumar Sonu, on behalf of the affected family and local residents, expressed gratitude to Sanjeev Arora for promptly visiting the site, expressing his sympathies, and assuring compensation.
