Lok Surakhya Manch condemns rise in crime graph in Region
Ludhiana, March 11, 2019: The Lok Surakhya Manch in its meeting today condemned the continuing nexus between some politicians, a section of police and administration and criminals, as a result of which the crime graph in the region is increasing and ordinary people are finding their life insecure. In its meeting, the Manch decided to organise people at bigger level and ensure transparency and answerability of concerned authorities in this connection. The incidents of crime against women including gang rapes are on the rise. There is a mafia who are pushing minor girls into flesh trade by luring them or kidnapping them. Response of police even in such cases is far from satisfactory. The speakers in the meeting presented the cases they have been facing and charged inaction by the police for the reasons best known to them. Undoubtedly they are under pressure by some politicians. But the speakers demanded that police must act professionally. The Manch will organize meetings of the people and make them aware of their legal and social rights and motivate them to raise their voice, said the speakers. Those who addressed the meeting include Prof.Jagmoan Singh , Dr Arun Mitra, Prof.Jaipal Singh, Jswant Zeerakh, Gurnam Sidhu, MS Bhatia, Avtar Kaur advocate, Barjinder Kaur, Raghbir Benipal, Vijay Kumar, Surinder Singh, Vinod Kumar and Mohan Singh.
