Lok Sabha Polls 2024: Administration committed to issue timely NOCs/permissions to political parties

Ludhiana, March 21, 2024: Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Major Amit Sareen on Thursday said that the administration was committed for timely issuance of No Objection Certificate (NOC)/permissions to political parties regarding rallies, processions, meetings and etc. during the Lok Sabha elections – 2024.

Presiding over a meeting with the officials of various departments including police, electricity, PWD, transport, Fire Brigade among others for streamlining the process of issuing permissions/NOCs, Sareen said that the administration would accord permission to political parties within prescribed timeframe. 

He said that the political parties need to apply for the permission for organising public meetings, rallies, processions, and use of loud speakers besides use of vehicles for poll campaigns, door to door canvassing, posters, hoardings, pamphlet distribution and etc. He said that each department must appoint a dedicated nodal officer for granting the permission promptly, so that the political parties do not face any kind of issue. 

Sareen asked the officers to ensure that all the application must be dealt sincerely and timely to facilitate the political parties.
