Literary Society UILS organises Vocal Velocity
The Literary Society of the University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, Chandigarh, successfully organised Vocal Velocity, an engaging declamation contest that witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 56 students across B.A./B.Com LL.B.
Chandigarh, September 10, 2026: The Literary Society of the University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, Chandigarh, successfully organised Vocal Velocity, an engaging declamation contest that witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 56 students across B.A./B.Com LL.B.
The event brought together distinguished guests from legal and language fields, who shared their insights and encouraged students to explore the power of words, expression, and critical thought. Prof. Deepti Gupta, Prof. Namita Gupta, Dr. Sakoon Singh judged the final round
Prof. Shruti Bedi, Director, University Institute of Legal Studies, emphasised the importance of declamation for law students, as arguing a case is a fundamental aspect of the field of law. Prof. (Dr.) Chanchal Narang and Dr. Sasha, Mr. Ishan Sharma and Mr. Vijay Kumar were the event Co-ordinators.
Participants showcased their talent through spirited performances that reflected both creativity and intellectual depth. The competition concluded with the announcement of winners, who were felicitated for their outstanding contributions.
Ravneet Kaur Brar won the first prize. Kanwar Pratap Singh Chahal and Samiksha Sachdeva stood second and third, respectively. Phillip Elisha Masih and Oshan Dogra received consolation prizes. In addition, Deeksha Nayyar, Samiksha Sachdeva, Philip Elisha Masih and Harsh were judged as the best speakers in the preliminary rounds.
The event not only celebrated literary excellence but also reinforced UILS’s commitment to nurturing holistic education by blending law with language, culture, and creativity.
