Ferozepur, September, 2: Taking note of the staggering figures of illegal beneficiaries and in an effort to keep a tab on the illegal beneficiaries of old age pensioners in various districts in Punjab, the state government has launched a special campaign to verify the age and residence proof of all such people.
Giving this information, Vijay Syal, SDM, Ferozepur said, “Following the orders of the Court, it has been decided to give an opportunity to the illegal pensioners found during the primary verification.”
He further said, “The lists of such illegal pensioners could be seen in the office of concerned municipal council at Ferozepur, Talwandi Bhai and Mudki and BDPO office, Ferozepur, Ghall Khurd and Mamdot.
Syal said, “The affected persons can put forth their right on September 5, 6 and 9 from 10 am to 4 pm in the office of Municipal Council for city areas and for rural areas in the concerned BDPO office”.
On asking about the actual number of illegal pensioners cases so far detected, he said, the list is yet to be tabulated as the report of one block is still awaited and the same will be finalised tomorrow but he declined to give any even roughly figure for which the information has been received by him.
