LIFE IMPRISONMENT to 6 in murder case after 6 years

Ferozepur, March 8, 2013: Additional District and Sessions Judge, Manju Rana, after hearing the murder case, announced life imprisonment to six persons involved in the murder case namely Darbara Singh,  Salwinder Singh,  Saraj Singh, Tara Singh, Harbans singh and Kanwaljit Singh resident of village Kada Bohra.  All these accused were booked in a murder case got registered by Lakhwinder Singh son of Amrik Singh at police Station Ghall Khurd.

Giving the details of the case, Lakhwinder Singh informed to the police that on 27 June 2006 at about 7.30 am, he alongwith his brothers Swaran Singh and Gurdip Singh were working in the fields.  In the meantime, all the accused came there.  Darbara Singh was having two guns and all others were having sharp edged weapons.  Tara Singh one of the accused shouted to clear the account of asking the money.  Darabara Singh fired straight which hit his brother Swaran Singh and all other moved towards him and Gurdip Singh.  Darbara Singh with intention to kill fired for the second time on him and Gurdip Singh.  On hearing the shouting, Dalwinder Singh, Jasbir and Kashmir Singh also reached the spot and all the accused fled away from the incident scene. Swarn Singh was shifted to the hospital in the injured condition where he died.

Lakhwinder Singh informed that he had given Rs.2.50 lakhs to the accused and only Rs.6,000 were yet to be taken back and on demanding the balance amount, the accused were showing enmity.  The case was registered immediately and charge sheet submitted in the court.

After about six and half year, on proving of charges from the prosecution side, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Manju Rana announced life imprisonment to all the six accused besides a fine of Rs.5,000 each.
