Lieutenant General Nav K Khanduri relinquishes Command of Western Army  

Lieutenant General Nav K Khanduri, PVSM, AVSM, VSM relinquished the command of Western Army on 30 June 2023.  In a solemn ceremony on his departure, the Army Commander paid homage to the martyrs by laying a wreath at the War Memorial. The General Officer is superannuating after nearly 40 years of distinguished service.

Jalandhar: Lieutenant General Nav K Khanduri, PVSM, AVSM, VSM relinquished the command of Western Army on 30 June 2023.  In a solemn ceremony on his departure, the Army Commander paid homage to the martyrs by laying a wreath at the War Memorial. The General Officer is superannuating after nearly 40 years of distinguished service.
 

An alumnus of National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, the General Officer passed out with 73rd Regular Course from the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun and was commissioned into 27 Air Defence Regiment (Amritsar Airfield) on 17 Dec 1983.  He is also an alumnus of the prestigious Defence Service Staff College, College of Defence Management and the National Defence College.  The General is Master of Philosophy in Defence Studies from Madras University and also holds a Masters degree in Management Studies from Osmania University.  
 

In a career of four decades, General Khanduri has served across a wide spectrum of operational areas and has tenanted a host of important Command, Staff and Instructional appointments. 
 

Lieutenant General Nav K Khanduri took over the reins of Western Command as General officer Commanding-in-Chief on 01 Nov 2021.  He was committed to ensuring the operational preparedness of Western Command through capability development and  various training events, exercise with troops and multi agency exercises.  The General Officer emphasised on administrative aspects like improvement of habitat, sustainable eco - system, welfare of troops, families & veterans. 
 

In his farewell address, the Army Commander complimented and expressed gratitude to all ranks of the formation and exhorted them to continue the good work in the finest traditions of the Indian Army.  All ranks of Western Army gave a befitting and dignified farewell to General and Mrs Nav K Khanduri.
