Librarian Day was celebrated at the Institute of Vocational Training and Education (IETVE), Panjab University, with enthusiasm and participation from students and faculty members.
Chandigarh, August 12, 2026: Librarian Day was celebrated at the Institute of Vocational Training and Education (IETVE), Panjab University, with enthusiasm and participation from students and faculty members.
The programme began with a welcome address by Chairperson Dr. Amritpal Kaur, who welcomed the guests, faculty members and students. She highlighted the importance of libraries in developing a habit of reading, promoting knowledge and supporting the academic and personal growth of students.
On this occasion, Raj Vidya Kender, an NGO based in Delhi, donated a collection of books to the institute library for the benefit of students pursuing the B.A. B.Ed. programme. The books, authored by Prem Rawat, focus on themes of inner peace, self-awareness, positive living and personal development.
The donation will provide students with access to meaningful reading material beyond their academic curriculum and encourage them to develop a deeper interest in reading and self-learning.
The institute expressed its sincere gratitude to Raj Vidya Kender, Delhi, for this valuable contribution and appreciated its initiative to make enriching literature available to students.
The celebration highlighted the significant role of libraries in fostering a culture of reading, learning and intellectual development. The programme concluded with appreciation for all those who contributed to making the occasion meaningful and successful.
