Chandigarh, Aug 10, 2019: A unique three-day exhibition of traditional & contemporary designer wear, handcrafted lifestyle products, accessories, home décor ensembles – by authentic artisans etc. has started at Himachal Bhawan, Sector 28, Chandigarh.
The curators of the exhibition – the husband and wife duo of Yogesh & Pooja Chaudhary who own Royal Day Events, have ensured that the showcase has collections of beautiful Rakhis and gifting options, keeping in mind the upcoming Raksha Bandhan festival. Till August 12, the exhibition boasts of as many as 60 exhibitors from across the country.
Pooja Yogesh Chaudhary, Director, Royal Day Events said, “We have organised this exhibition to make this Raksha Bandhan - a festival dedicated to the bond of love between brother & sister more memorable. We have brought silver, handmade Rakhi’s & more. The exhibitors have come from across the country, with the latest and the most-trendy collections of traditional wear, handicrafts, apparels, accessories, footwear etc. All this is available under one roof.”
The exhibition witnessed a heavy footfall on its opening day. ‘Lumba’s’, which are also called ‘Bhabhi Rakhis’ caught the attention of visitors. ‘Lumbas’ have been decorated nicely and studded with beautiful kundans. ‘Lumba’s’ are coming into trend as apart from tying a Rakhi on the wrist of her brother a sister also adorns the wrist of her sister-in -law(Bhabhi) with a ‘Lumba’.
A far as designer wear is concerned, label ‘Masakali’s’ suits, gowns and lehengas are gaining a lot of attention. ‘Mahira Creation’ by designer Ritu Lamba from Delhi is presenting a plethora of dresses and printed suits. A Mohali based label ‘Aaizah Boutique’ is displaying dresses and lehengas for weddings. Traditional fabrics with block printing have been brought by 'Sajili Designs'. The label has beautiful hand block printing of Ajrak, Mughal, Kalamkari and Johota fabrics. What’s more, suits and dress materials in pure cotton, chanderi and linen too are available. Designer label 'Shuddhi' has got a breathtaking collection of women wear.
There is international participation too. Unicorn Shop Dubai is presenting a quirky and exclusive range of bags and suitcases.
‘Jainam Arts’ from Jodhpur has fabulous home décor items and its intricate design work of handicrafts is drawing huge crowds.
In footwear ‘Horaz Exports’ from Patiala is displaying a wide range of colorful collections of traditional ‘Punjabi Juttis’ for ladies.
Yogesh Chaudhary, Director, Royal Day Events said, "We have tried to curate an exhibition which is a one-stop-shop for all of one's wedding & lifestyle needs. Apart from fashionable apparel we also have a good range of jewelry. We have fashion designers coming with their collections from places like Delhi, Agra, Lucknow, Jaipur etc. Lucknow's famous Chikankari based apparel's variety is huge."
The three-day exhibition will be on till August 12, 2019, from 10 am till 8:30 pm daily.
