Ludhiana, October 26, 2018: A Delegation of Board of Management for Ludhiana Effluent Treatment Society (LETS) comprising Shri Narinder Bhamra CEO along with S.Gurmeet Singh Kular Secretary, Sh.Rajan Gupta, S.Rajinder Singh Sarhali Director, Sh.Chander Parkash Sabharwal Director met Shri D.P.S.Kharbanda IAS Chairman LETS & Director of Industries & Commerce, Government of Punjab, and discussed as under:

18 % Reduction in Rate of Treatment Charges: As promised by the New Team of LETS, the Effluent Treatment Charges of M/s JBR Technologies, have been reduced by 18% with effect from 01.10.2018, as since the inception of New Team More than 70 Members have been added with more than 450000 Liter of effluent added for treatment per month

Abolishment of power intensive unit category for Billet Induction Heater Unit up to 1 M.W: Industry was encouraged to use latest clean and pollution free technology by installing the billet heaters. On 29th May 2014, PSPCL issued a circular that Billet Heaters installed shall be treated as Power Intensive Units (PIU) category w.e.f. 01-01-2014, the said circular never came into the notice of the industry, and now PSPCL is surveying the industry and where-ever they are finding the billet heaters they are imposing the penalty of 200% to the industry. There should be classification of billet heaters on the basis power consumption as well as output, for example the power required by 4” X 4” or 6” X 6” steel billet when subjected to heater, as compared to 10 mm steel bar to heat up for making cycle parts, or bolts. It has been demanded for allowing the industry to use induction billet heaters up to 1 M.W. without Power Intensive Unit Category.

Infrastructure of Focal Point: The Infrastructure of Focal Point is in its worst shape ever, and is getting worse day by day. The Roads and sewerage in the Ludhiana Focal Points (Phase I to Phase VIII) are in very bad condition and we feel ashamed to bring our domestic customers as well as foreign customers to our factories through these roads. Moreover, Female staff and Workers are showing reluctance in joining Industries established in Phase-VIII, as they feel unsafe due to poor Roads and Infrastructure. It has been observed that at least 70% of the street lights in the focal point are not working, whereas the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana is paying to the contractors. We request you kindly look into the matter and do the needful.

Demand for New Office of LETS: The demand of new office for carrying out the operations of Ludhiana Effluent Treatment Society have been raised to the chairman, and the new team demanded the New LETS office at GM DIC Building.

As Director of Industries assured the delegation about the issues solved on the priority & allotted new office of Lets in the office GM DIC office Ludhiana
