Chandigarh, April 17, 2026: The Department of Economics, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, organised a lecture on “Empowering Through Awareness: Rethinking Women’s Health Together.” 

The session was delivered by the Chief Medical Officer at the PU Bhai Ghanaiya Ji Institute of Health, Dr. Rupinder Kaur. Addressing students and faculty, she highlighted the importance of women’s reproductive health, preventive care, and early awareness. Key issues such as anaemia, PCOD, menstrual health, and mental stress were discussed with emphasis on timely intervention and informed healthcare practices.

Dr. Rupinder Kaur highlighted the need for collective responsibility in promoting awareness and breaking stigmas associated with women’s health. The lecture concluded with an interactive Q&A session.

The event saw participation from undergraduate and postgraduate students, research scholars, and faculty members. The programme was coordinated by the Economics Society.
