Leading with Courage: CWD–UILS Hosts Inspiring Women’s Day Session with IPS Officer Kanwardeep Kaur
The Centre for Women’s Development (CWD), University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, Chandigarh, today organised an interactive session titled “She Leads – She Protects” at the Moot Court Hall as part of the Diva Dynamics 3.0 celebrations in the lead-up to International Women’s Day. The session aimed to celebrate the strength, resilience, and leadership of women who contribute significantly to shaping institutions and safeguarding society.
Chandigarh, March 6, 2026: The Centre for Women’s Development (CWD), University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, Chandigarh, today organised an interactive session titled “She Leads – She Protects” at the Moot Court Hall as part of the Diva Dynamics 3.0 celebrations in the lead-up to International Women’s Day. The session aimed to celebrate the strength, resilience, and leadership of women who contribute significantly to shaping institutions and safeguarding society.
The event was graced by Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Chandigarh Police, as the Chief Guest, who shared her experiences in public service and emphasised the importance of courage, discipline, and integrity in leadership. She encouraged students to pursue their ambitions with determination while contributing meaningfully to society.
The session was graciously presided over by PU Director, Research & Development Cell, Prof. Meenakshi Goyal, while Dean, Student Welfare (W) Prof. Namita Gupta, attended as the Guest of Honour. Both dignitaries highlighted the importance of empowering women and fostering inclusive spaces for their growth and leadership.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, who actively engaged in discussions and interactions, making the session both insightful and inspiring.
The event was organised under the esteemed guidance of Prof. Shruti Bedi, Director, UILS; Prof. Anupam Bahri, Faculty Coordinator, CWD; along with Teacher Coordinators Dr. Sulbha Setia and Tania Singh. The event was coordinated by Riti Malik, with the dedicated efforts of the Core Team comprising Ruhani (President), Maan Kaur (Convener), Harleen Chaudhary and Varsha Sharma (Co-Convenors), and Lakshay Rajora and Jhanvi (Advisory Members).
The session marked a meaningful step in celebrating women’s leadership and empowerment, adding to the spirit of Diva Dynamics 3.0 at UILS.
