LBA player Joypreet Singh Sidhu selected in Indian Basketball Team; To play FIBA U18 Asia Cup 2026
The Ludhiana Basketball Academy groomed player Joypreet Singh Sidhu has been selected in the Indian National Basketball Team which will participate in the FIBA U-18 Asia Cup 2026 tournament which is going to be held at Veer Savarkar Sports Complex, Naranpur in Ahmedabad from August 13-23.

Ludhiana, August 7, 2026: The Ludhiana Basketball Academy groomed player Joypreet Singh Sidhu has been selected in the Indian National Basketball Team which will participate in the FIBA U-18 Asia Cup 2026 tournament which is going to be held at Veer Savarkar Sports Complex, Naranpur in Ahmedabad from August 13-23.
President of Punjab Basketball Association R S Gill, ex-DGP Punjab and Secretary Teja Singh Dhaliwal have hailed his selection. They said that besides the dedication of the player himself, the untiring efforts and excellent coaching of the Chief Coach Shrejaipal Singh and Jaspreet Singh have borne fruits and made the academy proud as BFI selection is very stringent.
Joypreet was earlier part of the Gold Medal winning Team in Sri Lanka for Asia Cup Saba qualifiers. He was also in the Silver Medal winning team in 75th Junior Basketball Championships.
Those who congratulated the player and coaches are officials of District Basketball Association, J P Singh, Brij Goyal, Sumesh Chaddha, Vijay Chopra besides other basketball coaches Ravinder and Saloni also.
Parminder Singh Heer, a former International Basketball player said that Joypreet will definitely excel furthermore.
