Punjab Gramin Bank on Munday launches its 6th ‘Financial Literacy Centre’ at Jalandhar. 

Jalandhar, March 24, 2014: Punjab Gramin Bank – a pioneer ‘Rural Bank’ of Punjab, providing various banking services to the people of the area, specifically the rural and outreached people, has today launched its 6th ‘Financial Literacy Centre’ at Jalandhar.  
Bikarm Singh Raina, Chairman of the Bank has inaugurated this centre, in the PGB Regional Office, Jalandhar.  Vinay Mutneja General Manager of the Bank was also present.
Raina said Bank has already taken 1289169 customers into its fold and with the opening of such type of financial literacy centers, people of the area as well as of nearby villages will be made aware about benefits of banking and various banking schemes available for the financial help of the people and as such clientele of the bank will further increase. These centres are launched under the financial aid from NABARD.
Further, Raina said Bank is committed to achieve its yearly allocated targets and to extend its banking services to the deep situated Service Area Villages and has already launched kiosk banking solutions for providing door step banking services through BC Model. He added that with the implementation of this BC model, the rural customers of the Bank can get benefit of the Govt. DBT Scheme from the BC Location.
