The Department of Ophthalmology, DMC&H launched the Low Vision Services today in Eye OPD Block. This new initiative is dedicated to the visual rehabilitation of patients whose vision cannot be improved further through medical or surgical treatment.

Ludhiana, October 14, 2025: The Department of Ophthalmology, DMC&H launched the Low Vision Services today in Eye OPD Block. This new initiative is dedicated to the visual rehabilitation of patients whose vision cannot be improved further through medical or surgical treatment.
These services help the patients to improve their daily functioning by using their remaining vision effectively through training, visual aids and support.
The event was graced by Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society, along with Mukesh Verma, Treasurer, DMC&H Managing Society; Dr. G. S. Wander, Principal, DMC&H; Dean Academics, Dr. Sandeep Kaushal; Medical Superintendents, Dr. Sandeep Sharma and Dr. Ashwani K. Chaudhary; Additional Medical Superintendent, Dr. Ashima Taneja, Dr Gurvinder Kaur, Prof. & Head, Department of Ophthalmology and all faculty members of the Department of Ophthalmology
Speaking on the occasion, Bipin Gupta appreciated the department’s efforts and said, DMC&H is committed to introducing patient-centric services that enhance lives beyond medical treatment. The launch of Low Vision Services is another milestone towards comprehensive and compassionate care.

Dr. Gurvinder Kaur highlighted that the introduction of Low Vision Services marks a new step in holistic eye care. Our focus is to help patients regain confidence and independence through personalized rehabilitation and visual aids.
